The amendments to four laws have been passed by the Labor Subcommittee, a legislative review subcommittee of the National Assembly, and will be enacted into law upon approval by the plenary session of the National Assembly.
1. Under the Equal Employment Opportunity and Work-Family Balance Assistance Act, the scope of employers subject to penalties for workplace sexual harassment has been expanded to include the employer, the representative of a corporation, and supervisors/employees who are relatives of the employer or the corporate representative;
2. Infertility treatment leave has been increased from the current two days of paid leave to four days of paid leave;
3. An exception has been newly introduced to Article 54 of the Labor Standards Act, requiring that, where working hours are four hours, a 30-minute rest period must be provided during working hours;
4. Under the Occupational Safety and Health Act, basic occupational safety and health training has been introduced specifically for foreign workers.
