The Labor Laws of the Republic of Korea

The following are a list of the various Acts of the Republic of Korea that Govern the practice of Labor.

Please note, these documents are provided as a curtsey only. The various Acts are originally in a PDF format and they have been transposed into a searchable format for your ease of use.

The goal is to make the research of the Lawful Labor Practice in the Republic of Korea easier. You should download the PDF versions of the Acts available here. The PDF versions are not searchable documents.

You will notice there are some spelling mistakes, and the like, in the PDF formats. The “errors” have been copied into the searchable format to ensure consistency.

The English versions of the Acts are provided as a courtesy by the Republic of Korea only. The Korean versions of the Acts are the ruling documents, and as such, the spelling mistakes etc, have no legal relevance when interpreting the Laws of the Republic of Korea.

Further interpretation and better understanding of the Acts and how they are implemented in a practical method can be found in the Korean Labor Law Bible by Bongsoo Jung, which is posted on this site here.

The Labor Laws of Korea, as published by the Ministry of Labor of the Republic of Korea are presented in two volumes:

  1. Part I; Employment
  2. Part II: Industrial Relations & Working Standards

You can find the individual Act by using the search bar located at the top of the web site or by clicking on the sections and reviewing the Acts listed beneath each section.
